The German Army began mass Production of the Panzer II in 1934; they decided to fill the gap between the III and IV Versions, and had three Companies submit proposals. The MAN Company's proposal was adopted; it weighed ten tons, had a Crew of three, and was armed with a 2cm Gun. A mild Steel Prototype was completed in 1935, leading to 25 of the a1 version being Produced, as well as 25 of the a2 and 50 of the a3 Versions.
